Operation Stonegarden Grant
We hear that Pima County Sheriff Mark Napier is desperate to obtain the Operation Stonegarden federal grant that the Supervisors refused him in 2018. How desperate? So desperate that he's trotting out the same stale rhetoric that failed to win hearts and influence people last year.
Here's an example, as reported in The Arizona Daily Star for March 19, 2019. Check our blog regularly for the latest details.
RELEASE THE VIDEOS
BREAKING NEWS
Tuesday, March 5: Supervisors vote unanimously to support the Christy resolution, with expanded scope specified by Supervisor Valadez. Pima County is now fully committed to televising meetings and deliberations of all boards and commissions and to making the videos publicly available.
UNCUT and UNEDITED
We supported Supervisor Christy in his demand for an end to unfair representation of county business, and we all won!
We ask the Board of Supervisors to record and release Pima County Commission videos UNCUT and UNEDITED for transparency, honesty and integrity. Edited videos only show one side of the story, whether from a Democrat, Republican or activist. We are asking for the whole story.
A CALL TO ACTION
What you can do to help
We support the motion to expand transparency for the Community Law Enforcement Partnership Commission and ask the Board to take it a few steps further and include ALL county commissions. We also want written transcripts of meetings made for people with hearing difficulties and translators available upon request.
To support the Board of Supervisor's quest to increase transparency, please call your Supervisor at (520) 724-8126 and ask for UNCUT and UNEDITED commission videos made available through the county website.
Please attend the Board of Supervisor's meetings and ask for UNCUT and UNEDITED commission videos to be made public.
The resolution to increase transparency will be taken up at the next Board meeting, Tuesday, March 5, 9:00 a.m., 130 W Congress.
